И снова саппорт.
На сей раз - не русский, но это мало что меняет.

I managed to resetup OS online but made a mistake during bootloader configuration.
Could you please check that server boot correctly?
Current configuration should be booted from /dev/hda3, with kernel located on /dev/hda1.

The server does indeed boot correctly, except that everything is installed to /dev/hda2, not using /dev/hda3 or /dev/hda1 at all.
At the moment, /etc/fstab is configured to use /dev/hda3 as swap and has /dev/hda1 set to mount as /boot, but that would not be advisable right now due to the current installation directly on / .
Please let us know how you would like us to proceed at this point.

/dev/hda3 is not swap any more.
Please reboot it with root=/dev/hda3.

In order to do this I'll need to make a change to the grub.conf file which will require access to the root account. At the moment, it does not appear that the password we have on file is working but if you wouldn't mind providing a working password I can make the change for you and reboot.

Could you just alter grub command line once?
I'll alter grub.conf myself then.

Hello,
Only the "root" user is allowed to change the grub.conf or fstab files. If you only wanted us to be able to write to specific files, you could step through and assign us those rights through facls.
setfacl -m u:support:rw filename.
Please let me know how I might help.
